My husband is at (Marine) Boot camp and things have changed...?

My husband has been at Parris Island for just over 2 months now. On the firing range, he ped his 1st qualifications well with 216 out to 250 shots and is a sharpshooter now. His Drill Instructor awarded him by giving him a 5 minute phone call to me. For those who don't know already, it is rare for a recruit to get to call home from the MCRD. He just called me a couple of hours ago. As soon as he said my name, I knew it was him and broke down in tears. So did he. The phone call was awkward, and he didn't seem to talk much or even listen well. He cried alot, and I was really nervous. I didn't know what to say. It felt like we had just started dating again. In a way it was nice to have that childish feeling back, but then I'm worried that we might be drifting apart. I've sent my future Marine a letter everyday he has been gone because I feared this so much. Before he left for boot camp, we never spent more than 2 days apart so I've never experienced this distance between us..I love and miss him so much. Is it normal to feel this way??? Will it be like this on Family day && Graduation?
