I don't know if this guy likes me?

okay so this guy at my school im in 8th grd and he just is starting to say hey to me and is trying to get my attention,but he has a reputation to have a big ego and stuff,and he flirts with alot of girls,but in p.e. we r rollerskating and this guy randomly comes over and sits by me (we had to sit down) and he sits really close to me and say hey! and i was kinda freaked cuz idk if he was being weird or what so i just skooted away and then he just laughed and left...?does he like me or is he justplaying w/me? help!
