Is this a good idea for a bridal shower gift?

I am helping to throw a bridal shower for my niece this weekend. I am trying to figure out what to get her for a gift that no one else may think of and that she didn't think to register for. What I have in mind are things like an address book, scissors, stapler, paper clips, bill organizer, steno notebook, bulletin board and push pins, envelopes, stamps, pencil sharpener, tape dispenser & tape, etc. Do you think this would be a good idea? If so, what other ideas do you have that I may not have listed here? I appreciate any help.
