Pope Benedict XVI has called for withholding communion from lawmakers who support abortion. Nancy Pelosi is?

one such lawmaker, who also just happens to be Catholic. It has been reported that today, she will be among the group of faithful that will receive communion from the Pope. My question is this; Knowing his stand on this issue, why would she deliberately go to receive communion from him? Also, after taking this stand, why would he serve communion to her? It seems that neither one is adhering to the dictates of the Papal office.
