Problem with Harvest Moon Grand Bazaar?

Ok, so I plan to marry Ivan and in order to do that I have to see all of his events, right? Well, he currently has an orange heart and I'm pretty sure I've seen his black heart event, but when I went into his house, 2pm on a Friday, I didn't see his second event. He is almost at a red heart, I've got the double bed, I've befriended Dirk, but I can't seem to get any of his events =/
